Suggest two ways in which men have been represented in these adverts.
In the fosters advert the men at the hut on the beach are shown to be the dominant people, over the women anyway. This is shown as there are mainly women on the beach and one of the men is always looking at them and interacting with them whilst in a conversation, this gives the impression that he is a catch and all the women think that he is a god. Where the man in the pub in England is not sue what to do and calls them for advice as he is struggling to know what to do with his mate that is a 'space invader'. The angle shot when the man is playing with an Ozzy rules ball with the girl is looking up at the man and down on the women when they through it to each other. The expressions on the mans face when he is flirting with the women is a very expressive one as he is putting his whole effort into it, when he is clearly not.
In the KFC advert the women seems the dominant person (well in the household) even though she is cooking in the first shot of the advert you can see this as the camera is facing up at the the women and the facing down at the man. the man and the women are also in different parts of the house showing a mental barrier between them, the man is reading a newspaper almost like the women waits on him hand and foot yet when he annoys her the roles switch and the man ends up outside on the step at night. This is very different when they are in KFC as the person behind the counter is a women and when she hands him the food she does it so as she is almost kneeling down to him and he is standing there waiting with approval.
